Meet the Team
Alfonso Loya is a filmmaker and singer/songwriter born and raised in Cd. Juarez, Mexico. At the age of 12 he moved to the U.S. At the age of 17 he started writing songs and playing guitar, piano, harmonica, violin and drums. Alfonso studied film at New Mexico State University where he directed and scored a few short films. In 2016 he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Filmmaking and in 2017 he started a production company In Cadence Films with filmmaker and actor Tony Marquez where he produces music videos and short films. Alfonso is known for the Directing ‘De la Luz’, an awarding-winning film spotlighting the immigration crisis in the southwest. Alfonso is the Director for Between Borders.
Tony Marquez is a cinematographer, film director and actor born and raised in El Paso TX. He has worked on a wide range of projects such as short and feature films, music videos, and commercials. Tony, studied at New Mexico State University where he received a Bachelors in Digital Filmmaking. In 2017 he started In Cadence Films a production company with composer/filmmaker Alfonso Loya where he continues to tell stories through his cinematography. Tony is known for the cinematography in ‘De la Luz’, an awarding-winning film spotlighting the immigration crisis in the southwest. Tony is the Director of Photography for Between Borders.
Julian is a writer, producer, and marketing specialist from Columbus, NM. He has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from country music, documentary films, real estate, and digital marketing. Julian is known for ‘De la Luz’, an awarding-winning film spotlighting the immigration crisis in the southwest. He created the series “La Vida Buena”, an ongoing project to spotlight restaurants that have struggled as a result of the pandemic. His background in marketing has helped him build a successful business that provides the tools to other filmmakers to reach audiences worldwide. Julian is the writer and executive producer for Between Borders.
